Pride in Walcot and Park North

Chair of Pride in Place nominated and Board Member applications now open

I am pleased to be able to share an update on the selection of the new independent Chair and the next steps for Board recruitment.

Following an open recruitment process, Jessica Higgins has been selected to chair the Neighbourhood Board. Jessica brings strong community and governance experience, including from her role as Chair of Governors at St Joseph’s Catholic College, and has longstanding links to the local area.

As Chair, Jessica will lead the development of the Neighbourhood Board and help shape the 10-year Investment Plan that will guide how the £20 million Pride in Place funding is used. Jessica will be at the next community engagement meeting - details will be circulated shortly.

I am also delighted to announce that recruitment for Neighbourhood Board Members is now open.

The Board will work with the Chair, local partners and residents to set priorities, oversee projects and help shape long term investment in Walcot and Park North.

Members will typically attend 6–8 meetings a year and support wider community engagement. Ideally, members will be able to commit for the first four-year investment cycle.

Those who live, work or have strong connections to the area, and who want to play an active role in improving the community, are encouraged to apply.

The application window closes Wednesday 17 June 2026 at 5pm.
