Capacity problems on Southeastern

Home / News / Lewisham news / Capacity problems on Southeastern

22 January 2018
It A number of constituents have contacted me regarding their experience with Southeastern rail services since the re-opening of platforms at London Bridge.
I recently wrote to Southeastern with questions about the short-formation problems many people have noticed. You can read the response I received here.

It is clear from this response that carriages have indeed been removed from certain services in an attempt to anticipate changes in travel patterns as London Bridge re-opened. As you will see from the letter, Southeastern are reviewing passenger numbers on peak services and changes may be decided upon by the end of February.

I am determined to see some improvement in services and have already been back in touch to request notice of any changes to be implemented.
After my invitation on twitter to share Southeastern’s letter with interested constituents many of you got in touch with details of particular services that are currently unsatisfactory. In those instances I have already relayed that information to Southeastern.

If you have not contacted me with specific concerns about a particular service but wish to do so, please email me at, and I will make sure that Southeastern are also aware of the problems on your service as well.
