20 April 2012
Regenerating our towns Yesterday I spoke in a debate on Regeneration, and highlighted the inadequancies of the Government’s “community-led” strategy. Speaking on behalf of a constituency where 29 people are chasing every job vacancy (whereas in Mr Cameron’s constituncy that ratio is just 2:1) I focussed on the the need for geographically based area regeneration.

Regeneration is the centre of how we develop jobs, decent homes and improve the quality of the enviroment. It is something that the Government must take seriously and I will continue to hold them to account on in my role on the Communities and Local Government Select Committee.
