Supporting KOFUP Last week I was delighed to sponsor at exhibition in the Upper Waiting Hall of the House of Commons for KOFUP (Kenyan Orphans Fund and Uganda Project).

KOFUP is a charity that supports orphans in Kenya and Uganda. The recent crisis in East Africa has made us all aware of the desperate struggle of many children in this part of the world and so I wanted to give MPs and others the chance to learn more about the work the charity does in this region.

The amazing thing about KOFUP is that it is run by a very, very small group of people. It was the brainchild of Brendan Bennett who felt so strongly about the plight of children in Kenya and Uganda, that he felt he had to do something to help and that was how KOFUP was founded.

The exhibition included examples of work from artists based in the slums of Kisumu. One of the ways that KOFUP raises funds is by selling this work and reinvesting the proceeds in the charity.
