A lovely write-up in the South London Press today about the Northbrook Park tree-planting morning last week. I went along with Matt from my office and helped to plant a new forest of hazelnut trees.
The morning was organised by the Northbrook Park Community Group – a group that was set up by local people to improve the park. A few months ago, they were successful in winning £50,000 in the Big Lottery’s People’s Millions.
In addition to designing a brand new children’s play area, the Group had 100 hazelnut saplings to plant in one corner of the park. I managed to do 4 – I probably needed to do less chatting and more planting if I’m honest!
Anyhow, it was a great way to spend an hour and a welcome break from responding to emails.
