Nursery reopens in new home Earlier today I had the great pleasure of going along to the official re-opening of the Somerville Nursery on the Heathside and Lethbridge estate in Blackheath. Lots of mums and dads were there and even the kids had come in for a special day of play on a Saturday.

About a year ago, I was approached by Stella Moss, who runs the nursery as she was concerned that the redevelopment of the estate was going to leave her nursery without a home (the nursery used to be located in the old Wash House building which has now been demolished as part of the first phase of regeneration).

The nursery is now located in what used to be the Landale Health Centre and the facilities for the kids are great. A huge amount of work has gone into the new premises and they look fantastic – the kids seem to enjoy spending time there too, which is the most important thing. I’m really pleased that we were able to retain the nursery on the estate – it’s conveniently located for lots of working mums and dads and it was good to hear how the this facility makes a real difference to their lives and the lives of their children.
