Decent Homes for Blackheath

Celebrating decent homes work in Blackheath - Aug '09

Having just got back from holiday, it was great to return to work to celebrate the completion of decent homes works at Village Court in Blackheath. (For those of you who don’t know, Village Court comprises of about 30 flats which are home to some of Lewisham’s older residents).

Broomleigh Housing Association have done a fantastic job at Village Court and it was good to hear from some of the residents about how pleased they are with their new kitchens, bathrooms and windows (investment which wouldn’t have happened without Labour’s commitment to giving everyone a decent home).

The work has been completed ahead of schedule and Broomleigh have made sure that residents have been consulted at every stage – I’m looking forward to seeing a similar transformation get underway at Leybridge Court and Newstead Road soon!
